This was our top voted design for our 2nd design contest. The story behind the amazing human who designed it is below. Kim turned down her contest winnings to donate directly to the EHE foundation and we are matching that with $5 from each shirt going to this foundation. Thank you Kim, more than you know.
" At the end of March, I was diagnosed with one of these rare cancers. Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma (try saying that once, let alone five times fast), or EHE, as it's more commonly called. EHE itself is so rare, it affects roughly 1 in 1 million people. Because of the rarity of EHE and sarcomas in general, there is no targeted treatment and little research dedicated to fighting the disease. All of the treatments that EHE patients undergo have been developed for more common carcinoma cancers, and oftentimes, patients have to undergo a trial-and-error approach to treatment in order to find something to stabilize tumor growth.
"When I received my diagnosis, I decided to make it my mission to raise awareness about EHE and sarcoma cancer. "Just Live" is the unofficial motto of EHE patients and the EHE Foundation. My goal with this design was to take this saying that I've been so passionately embracing for the past three months and give it the CFC treatment. A treatment that captures the ruggedness and resilience of Mainers - and those fighting cancer."
